did you miss me?

I'm back for a minute....it's hard to believe that things are winding down so quickly. and I know I'm going to have to transition away from this utopia of creating that has been my summer...wah....anyway, here's some pics from the past few days. I've had visitors, spent two whole days at the beach, found a great restaurant called Silly's that makes a thirst quenching sangria, and in my work I'm thinking about snow.

but here's the thing, I took a weekend off!! Back in the studio now, working on a "liminal space' which will be a stitched wall hanging set away from the wall with light shining through it, so when you look at it you also see shadow of stitching and yourself in it. I'm stitching on cheesecloth which is not fun, but there's this stuff you can buy that will dissolve in water when I'm done with the stitching...today I'm also going to print on the cloth....images to come, I promise! Also had a great visit with younger, and both are coming up this weekend! yay!

have completed second critique for the summer. Actually, not even a summer. 5 weeks. I have to say it was, I am, legit. We discussed my "work"....there was argument, feeling, questions, interest, speculation, and all that.

these are monoprints...you spread ink on the table, put paper down, and draw........and then, surprise!!

 I have my second critique this week!! yikes....it means lots of work, then I'm "free" for the last bit of the intensive, by which to say I continue to work.....I tried monoprints last night, will put some images up soon. The visiting artist this week is Stanya Kahn.
